Draft Student Fellowship Announcement, 2007-2008

The Indiana University Center for Bioethics, the Hall Center for Law and Health, and the new Center for Health Policy recently established a Consortium for Health Policy, Law, and Bioethics, which is now an official IUPUI Signature Center Initiative. The Consortium is not a center or program; rather, it is an initiative to create an innovative, interdisciplinary environment for interested students and faculty at IUPUI. The Consortium will support students’ interests in current and developing degree and certificate programs and will fulfill its mission through education, research, and public outreach functions.

In pursuit of the Signature Center’s interdisciplinary research and education mission, the Consortium for Health Policy, Law, and Bioethics is pleased to announce a Consortium student fellowship available for graduate students in disciplines related to health policy, law and bioethics. These graduate programs included but are not limited to health policy, health administration, public health, business, nursing, dentistry, allied health, liberal arts, law and medicine; students in consortium joint degree programs will be preferred. Fellowships will be awarded in November, 2007 and in the Spring, 2008.

To be considered for the 2007-2008 fellowship, students must have a strong academic record and have an interest in health policy, law, and bioethics. Student accomplishments in these fields—in addition to a student’s potential for research—will be considered. To apply, please send a CV, current transcript, and a letter explaining why you wish to be considered for the Consortium student fellowship. Application deadline is October 15, 2007. Current Consortium joint degree programs include: JD/MA in Law and Bioethics; JD/MHA in Law and Health Administration; JD/MPA in Law and Health Policy; JD/MPH in Law and Public Health; and the JD/MSW in Law and Social Work.
